Bowls is continuing under COVID restrictions.  NSW Health  has  restricted community groups from holding any inter club competitions. This has meant that our District and Zone finals cannot be played until after 30th September. This has also caused the delay to announcing the go ahead of the Classic Fours competition at Ocean Shores on the 24th and 25th October.

I refer to you the minutes of the Bowls Management Committee.

We have had one member resign. Geoff Collins has submitted a letter of resignation to the Bowls Management  Committee stating an “on going dispute with the Board” as his reason.

The Club Triples has been moved forward to the end of September.

We had Troy Makin make zone finals in Singles, Pairs and Fours. He will undoubtedly be the front runner for District Champion Bowler for 2020. We had another team also make it to the Zone in Reserve Triples.

The Bowling Greens are in top order,  under the care of our greenkeeper Troy Makin.

Member figures show a fall in number this year. Hopefully this will improve throughout the year. Nearly 50% of our Bowlers are now Golfer/Bowlers. There are a few Mixed Bowlers to be added to the membership list. The bowls committee will work through the list shown as our records differ from what is presented.

Good numbers are being seen on our green for Monday Competition. We had 29 people attend our monthly breakfast bowls. Night bowls on Wednesday night continues to be played with upwards of 16 hardened bowlers being present.
