Equal leaders
after the first round were Bree Arthur
(Brookwater) of a 0 handicap and
Ellesha Michie (Emerald Lakes) of a 2
handicap. Each had scored a 1 over par
round of 73.
After the first 9
holes of the second round Bree held a
commanding 4 shot lead but Ellesha was
not going to give up and birdied the
last two holes to tie with Bree, both
with rounds of 75.
With the sun
getting low and the light failing, the
two travelled down the first hole in a
sudden death playoff. Bree won the hole
and her first Ocean Shores Ladies
Amateur Challenge.
Local knowledge
paid off for the Ocean Shores ladies
with Division 2 being won by Lynne
McGowran, Division 3 by Joan Jenson and
Division 4 by Adrienne Tonkin.
The 4th hole gave
up an Eagle to G Arnison from the
Pacific Club, the first in the
tournament's history.
From all reports
the ladies enjoyed the 2 days and will
be back next year to help celebrate the
10th anniversary.
