Eclectic, Birdies, Gobblers & Sandys - Commence on 31 January 2012 – 1st Monthly Medal Stroke (B/Fwd from 21 February 2012 due to course bridge works) – Please pay on 31 January 2012 before your game at the Pro Shop OR complete a yellow envelope in the Ladies room and put in Treasurer’s Slot
Eclectic $2, Birdies $1, Gobblers $1 and Sandys $1 – Total $5
Tuesday 14 February 2012 – Course Closed for green renovations and bridge work
Tuesday 21 February 2012 – Nine Holes Twice (back nine) – due to bridge works
OSMUR Shield – Tuesday 28 February 2012 – The computer is open for this event, we ask ladies who can provide a buggy ride for a Murwillumbah lady to put their names beside the blocked off time slots
March 2012 dates to note:
Autumn Leaf – Tuesday 13 March 2012 (1st Round) – This year this event will be one division only for the two day event, daily events in two divisions (according to numbers). Players will no longer be required to pay up front for the two days

2012 Competitions:
Ladies competitions will be played in two (2) Divisions, according to numbers, including our Club Championships.
The new divisions will be Div 1 (0 – 26) and Div 2 (27 – 45).
Saturday NTP’s
A NTP has been re-introduced on Saturday – kindly sponsored by Jan Racine, Sandy Stephenson and Larissa Franks. Please check the whiteboard in the ladies room each Saturday morning
New Golfing Members:
Lady Golf, together with the Ocean Shores Country Club Board, provide an opportunity for prospective playing members to have six (6) introductory games of golf with a member of the Ladies Committee, before committing to a full club membership. The
prospective players are required to join as a $6.00 social member and pay $3.00 per introductory game.

LOCAL RULES:
Preferred Lies, Dirt Bare Patches on Fairways and Repairs to edges of greens:
Ladies please ensure that you look at the Local Rule Board on the 1st and 10th Tees before you tee off
Corella Damage: – Until Further Notice
Relief is available from Corella damage on greens under rule 25 – 1B3. If Corella damage is on line of putt, without penalty lift and place ball at nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole
Golflink Handicap:
‘In a situation where a player competes in a competition round before a previous handicap altering score is processed, they will play off the handicap displayed on their golflink handicap. However, if their new handicap goes through golflink before the close of competition, the committee will exercise their right to adjust the players handicap.’
The following Golflink amendments came into effect on Wednesday 21 September 2011:
Alter ‘Best 10 of 20’ to ‘Best 8 of 20’
Change the multiplier from 0.96 to 0.93
Introduce an Anchor which will prevent a player’s handicap from increasing any more than 4 strokes beyond their best exact handicap from the previous 12-month rolling period
Golf Link will cap the score that goes into a player’s handicap record at no more than the following amount over the course rating:
50 – Women
40 – Men
Matchplay Brooch:
The Matchplay Brooch has commenced and continues to end of January 2012. We encourage higher handicap and new players to participate. Please see Bev Wingad if you are interested and would like more information. 2011 Winner will be announced on Opening Day in February 2012.
Course Rating:
Our course has been rated on 28 March 2011 and we await the result
Hazard Markings:
Captain Claudette now believes the hazard markings are correct, please advise her if you have any concerns
Note: New hazard side plantings – compulsory GUR if roped and signage. Relief for all GUR – Nearest point of relief, plus 1 club length, no nearer the hole
Greens Report:
This report will now be posted on the Ladies Captains Board after each monthly meeting
Rules / Notations:
Speed up Play – To speed up play send two players onto the next tee when they have completed the hole being played
A difference of opinion – If you have a difference of opinion with a player in your group, play two balls and then obtain a ruling before handing in your card
Please leave rakes in bunkers in the line of play and away from the edge
We again ask that you announce your score on the completion of each hole to your marker to avoid any mistakes being made
Several new rules will come into effect on 1 January 2012, please check the Handicap Board and / or GNSW Website
PROCEDURES FOR a) ‘Ball in Water Hazard’ – Rule 26 and
b) ‘ Unplayable Ball’ – Rule 28. Both basically the same and both with 1 shot penalty
There are three (3) Options:
Hit another ball from where you hit the ball (a) and (b)
For a) Decide the spot where the ball last crossed over the hazard line, then draw an imaginary line from the pin to that point and go back as far as you like on that line. For b) The same procedure, but from where the unplayable ball lies
For a) Drop a ball within two (2) club lengths, no nearer the hole from where the ball last crossed into the hazard. For b) Drop a ball within two (2) club lengths no nearer the hole from where the ball lies
Note – This rule is for Lateral Water Hazards only. All Ocean Shores hazards have been marked thus (with red pegs). Option 2a) is not available for Water Hazards marked with yellow pegs.
MOVING A BALL IN SEARCH – Rule 18:
By fellow competitor, his caddy or equipment – no penalty – Ball must be replaced. Note if the ball has been run over or stood on, it has probably moved downwards and must be replaced as near as possible to the original position
By the player, her 4 Ball Event partner or equipment (Including motorized cart) – 1 Shot Penalty and ball must be replaced as above
